The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam has reopened its exhibition of the conceptual artwork Peanut Butter Floor by Wim T. Schippers, a piece created in 1969 [1]. The display serves as a tribute to the non-traditionalist artist who passed away last month at the age of 83 [1].
The installation covers a hexagonal area measuring 25 square meters (approximately 270 square feet) with more than 800 pounds, or roughly 40 barrels, of peanut butter [1]. The spread was applied to a thickness of 2 centimeters (about 0.8 inches) across the floor surface [1]. Calvé donated the 40 barrels used for this two-month exhibition [1].
